Like many people, I have been contemplating and deeply feeling heartbreak over the BP oil spill and its known and unknown consequences. Resting deeply, remaining still and being present for the heart breaking while taking in the images and the latest facts that are surfacing, frustrating to hopeful.
Last night several insights blossomed. First, there was the recognition of the One dreamer of consciousness, the sameness of Source for all forms and the inseparability of myself from the CEO of BP and the brown pelicans covered in oil. The sameness of Spirit, accompanied by the irony of waking up each morning the ‘same me’ in differentiated form.
Second was the recognition of the need for new social forms, new social architecture of all our planetary industries beyond both hierarchical multinational companies and government, both displaying the robust inadequacies of their structures as they continue to fumble incompetently to resolve this latest unprecedented disaster of their own joint making.
I envisioned “Venture Capitalized Co-ops” world-wide as the new form of conducting business, where the people jointly own the oil companies, food industries, health care industries etc. That such a global restructuring may be a solution. I remembered Alvarado Street Bakery and other companies who are doing this successfully. I’ll be calling my broker soon.
